Natalie Decker Racing Important Details

By George Anderson

Car racing is a sport where participants try to compete for the fastest automobile who can finish the contest first. These competitions are run on oval race tracks usually with various categories depending on the automobile used. Stock cars are those that have not been modified from its original factory configuration.

Many people are into this sport and have been successful in pursuing a career with the help of the people around them. One of these racers is Natalie Decker racing where she has started joining competitions at a very young age. Here are some basic tips for you when you want to join and start a career in racing.

You could start with your own car and use it if you have but those vehicles which are SUVs or trucks are not allowed. If not then wait until you can afford to buy one or if possible, just borrow or rent the appropriate vehicle. Whatever type is allowed as long as the vehicle is mechanically sound though it is better to begin with one that is not so fast for a faster progression of skills.

Right preparation is easy, simple and affordable and the use of stock is best for beginners specially. Just make sure that it is maintained well by having the brakes flushed, wheels torqued, securely attach the seat belts and seat and recent fluids and belts. Modifying parts this time is a waste of money except for brake fluids and pads.

Acquire a good helmet specially when using stock vehicles as you would likely need it and will be wearing for half an hour without a chance to adjust it. Read good books to know more about the basic things and their explanations. Some of the ideas you will be reading may not make any sense but they will once you start racing.

Have water, food and rest before and until your first day of track event which you will be joining. Driving in the racetrack is tiring mentally specially for beginners like you so do not abuse any substance or drink alcohol days before the event. Bring some food and liquids to replenish your energy once in a while.

Be realistic with your expectations and do not expect you would be one of the fastest drivers on the track on your first try. Expect instead to be the slowest driver there as nobody ever does become the fastest one immediately. Remain humble and just do your best and you would become as fast as others after some more races.

Attend an event as a guest or spectator first before as a driver so you would have an idea on how these events are before being a part of it. This would also give you ideas in the kind of things you want to buy and bring in when it is your turn. It would also be your way of scouting out events where you can join as a novice driver.

Consider to have a private coach if you have higher class vehicles and can afford one. Have one with experience in similar cars to yours. It is advantageous also to work with the same person every time.
