Guide For Beginners On Driving Stick Shift

Many people are confused in operating different machines in which have a small difference with the ones they have been using. When have driven an automatic car all your life, it will be hard to driving stick shift car if you have never done this before. Therefore it is important to understand how this works in order to help someone with this type of car when you get them in a problem or when you purchase this model.

However, there are some tips in which you are supposed to understand before making your first move. The first thing is that you need to practice this from a secluded place where there are no people like in a stadium to avoid causing accidents. This will save you time and money if careful enough.

After getting in the car and making yourself comfortable, you are supposed to push the clutch in before starting the locomotive to check if gears were disengaged when the engine was stopped. Therefore must make sure your gear lever is free by ensuring it is moving from one side to the other freely. By making sure the care is on safe grounds, you can now start the engine.

Then, push the clutch in and ensure all gears are disengaged by swinging the lever from one side to the other. On this time, you can start the engine and step on clasp to engage the starting gear. This should be done slowly as you press gas pedal slowly by also releasing the seize on the same pace. The car will start moving when the engine gains more power and you will have to completely release hang on to pedal and push the accelerator to a manageable speed.

Pouring is simple then you need to push the clutch in again while releasing the acceleration pedal. This should be done at once and engage the gear number two when the clutch is at the bottom. You must know the number two gear is on the furthest end just opposite the number one. The auto will continue moving with the same speed and locomotive sound will change.

You will have to change the gear after some time and this will be hard if you have no idea what to do. Therefore you need to step on the clutch and push it in while releasing the gas pedal at the same speed. Once hang on to pedal is down, drop the lever from number one to number two which is just below number one past the neutral.

After a while, you must stop the car using the instructions given to avoid making the engine stop abruptly. Therefore you must release the accelerator and by using the same leg, apply brakes and start pressing them slowly till you reach to a lower speed then you can push the clutch in fully. The car will stop after some minutes and you will have to turn off the engine. Before turning off, disengage all the gears and pull the handbrake to ensure after releasing the brakes, the vehicle will not move.

Before you switch the engine off, disengage all the gears to neutral and pull the handbrake. Now it is the right time to switch the engine off. Rep-eat the process over and over again until you are certain you can do it on road. Asking for help from an experience driver in this type of model is advisable.
